We’ve always enjoyed the occasional fried rice at restaurants over the years, so we figured it was probably time to try and make some ourselves! Wes put together pretty simple recipe and whipped it together in no time. This would make a great side, or could be a stand-alone meal.

Gluten Free Easy Fried Rice
Simple fried rice with choice of added veggies and meat
SUPPLIES
- Skillet
Ingredients
- 2 tsp Sesame oil peanut or canola oil would also work
- 1 TBS garlic minced
- 4 cups frozen veggies
- 4 eggs beaten
- 5 cups rice cooked
- 1/3 cup La Choy soy sauce or other GF option
- 2 cups diced ham (or other meat of choice)
Instructions
- Cook Rice according to directions {we used 10-minute "instant" rice.}
- While the rice is cooking, coat a large pot with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and heat on medium-low. Cook garlic and frozen veggies, stirring frequently, until tender.
- Push veggie mixture to the side of the pan and add another tablespoon of sesame oil, then add eggs in center of oil and cook as you would scrambled eggs.
- Stir the contents of the pan, then add in cooked rice, soy sauce, and meat {if you're using chicken or beef, it should be cooked before adding.}
- Turn heat to low and, stirring frequently, allowing all ingredients to heat through before serving.
Notes
We grabbed a large mixed bag of frozen, pre chopped peas, carrots, corn, and green beans for our vegetables. You can use whatever combination of frozen veggies sounds good to you, or if you have a little extra time on your hands, fresh works as well!
You can also use whatever type of meat you have on hand. Shredded rotisserie chicken, leftover ground beef or beef roast, shredded pork, cubed ham, chunks of shrimp...whatever sounds good!
