Is there any sweeter summertime treat than homemade ice cream?? I don’t think there is! We just got out hands on our very own Ice Cream Maker, and the kids were so excited to try it out! Their favorite part though was definitely putting on all of their own toppings… especially the chocolate syrup! {Scroll down for the Ice Cream Recipe we used and a full review of our BCP Ice Cream Machine!}

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 2 cups Whole Milk
- 3/4 cup White Sugar
- 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Stir sugar, cream, and milk into a saucepan over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Heat just until mix is hot and a small ring of foam appears around the edge.
- Transfer cream mixture to a pourable container such as a large measuring cup. Stir in vanilla extract and chill mix thoroughly, at least 2 hours. (Overnight is best.)
- Pour cold ice cream mix into an ice cream maker, turn on the machine, and churn according to manufacturer's directions, 20 to 25 minutes.
- When ice cream is softly frozen, serve immediately or place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the ice cream and place in freezer to ripen, 2 to 3 hours.
Notes
BCP Ice Cream Machine Review
Appearance – Simple compact design. I like the simple white base & the clear lid so you can see the ice cream thickening!
Ease of Use – I have a confession. I tried using this maching THREE TIMES with no success until I realized you had to freeze the inner bowl prior to using. Whoops. Once I actually followed the instructions properly, it was SOOO simple. You literally just pour the mixture in the opening, close the lid, and hit start! The opening was a bit small, but I just used my pourable measuring cup and it poured right in. Timer can be adjusted as needed. Be careful not to flip the top upside down when opening – there are a lot of little crevices to clean if ice cream splatters into them.
Affordability – Currently on sale for $34.99, which is pretty decent for an Ice Cream Maker.
Quality – The machine has held up very well to our multiple uses so far! This machine makes up to 1.5L, which was just enough for the kiddos. You’d probably need to make multiple batches for a party, but that would also allow for different flavors too! All of the parts seemed durable.
