Lunch time with our six kiddos is pretty standard around here: Wes comes home on his break, and we make the kids one of a few meals in our rotation for them. Then of course we’re left to fend for ourselves, and often I end up resorting to leftovers or something frozen. That’s why I was super excited to try Freshly’s Meal Delivery service for a week!
I selected my meals from their online menu, for reference, I ordered the 6 meal plan (all Gluten Free):

Variety – I thought that there were actually a lot of options to choose from, so I was pretty impressed with the variety! Currently I’m seeing 25 different options on their menu.
Allergy Friendliness – Having Celiac Disease means I must eat gluten free – I was delighted to see that ALL of their meals were actually safe for me, including pastas! This is not something I have found when I have looked into other meal/ingredient delivery services.
Affordability – Meal plans range from $49.99/week (4 meals @ $12.50) to $107.99/week (12 meals @ $8.99). This one is honestly a little more difficult for me to rate – it will always be cheaper to buy and make our own food, so you’re really paying for convenience here, and that kind of just depends on how much it’s “worth it” to you. With eight people in our family, I’m having to buy groceries and cook all the time anyways. These are single serve meals so it wouldn’t ever really be an option for the whole family. That said, it was super nice to have a healthy and filling meal ready to go for me with no prep work throughout the week! I will also say that there is a lot of food in each meal, so compared to the tiny amount you’d find in a frozen meal from the store or what you’d spend at a fast food drive through, the price point is very fair.
Flavor – I personally found the “regular” meals to be a bit bland, but really enjoyed the “spicier” options. I am not typically a spicy type of food eater for reference, but a little bit of salt did seem to help on the other meals! Overall I just thought they were average.
Quality – The really great thing about this company is that they provide a generous amount of high quality, nutritious food that really does stay fresh throughout the whole week as you work through the meals! I was very happy with the quality and freshness of what I received.
