A Heart-Filled Birthday Party

This past Thursday we celebrated our little girl’s birthday with our family:

I can’t believe she is already two years old! For the decorations, I knew I wanted to do  some sort of “display,” similar to many I’ve seen floating around  Pinterest, so I attempted a version of my own… I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out! She had received a little tea set for Christmas from my parents, and she loves playing with it, so we also had a little table set up for the kids to enjoy.

To save time, I ended up buying the majority of the treats, but I did get to make some gluten free cupcakes & sugar cookies. My grandmother brought the beautiful flowers, and we filled a little “bird cage card-holder” I had found with party favours for the kiddos. I didn’t really notice this last year, but since it’s so close to Valentine’s Day I had a super easy time finding lots of pink and heart-shaped candies and decor. It worked out really well. We kept all the beverages in the kitchen due to lack of space and to reduce messes in the living room.

The kids jumped right in to playing with the tea set and enjoying some frosted animal crackers! It was sweet to see them all playing together and serving each other tea. They were all also great at helping get all the presents rounded up and even assisted in opening them. 🙂

Needless to say, the present-opening was one of the big highlights of the evening.  She received  lots of princess & fairy stuff, and another Pete the Cat book from her aunt Lexi {who took the second & third sets of pictures for me.} We really enjoyed seeing everyone and the kiddos played their little hearts out. It could not have gone any better!
